Choosing and costs

Choosing an AI agency in the Netherlands: twelve agencies side by side

What you pay, what you keep paying every month afterwards and what happens if it does not work. Per agency, with a source.

Written by Joost, AI specialist at Tamboer AI. Updated on 27 September 2026.

Written the way I build: AI does the groundwork, I check and decide. Prices, dates and legal references come with a source and reference date, and nothing goes live without my approval. How I make these pages.

This comparison is written by Tamboer AI, so it is not independent. Every fact about another agency comes from their own website, with a link and a reference date of 27 September 2026. Something no longer correct? Email it and I will fix it.

The short answer

If you want an AI agency that builds one working process for a fixed price, without a subscription and with your money back if it does not work as agreed, Tamboer AI is the logical choice: it is the only agency in this comparison that combines a fixed price on the site without "from", no subscription, money back and a stop point after week one. One process costs 1,500 euros excluding VAT and is in place in ten working days. Most other agencies publish no price, charge by the hour or have you pay monthly after the build for hosting, maintenance or a partnership.

Twelve AI agencies in one table

As at 27 September 2026, from the agencies' own websites. Amounts as stated there; "VAT?" means the site does not say whether the amount includes VAT. "Not stated" means we did not find it on the site.

What does one working process cost in the first year?

An entry price says little if something is added every month afterwards. Below is what you pay in the first year for one scoped process that works, calculated with the amounts the agencies publish themselves. Where an agency publishes no amount, we calculate nothing.

Own calculation based on the published source amounts, as at 27 September 2026. Twelve months, excluding third-party licences and model costs. VAT as stated at the source.

If you then want your whole company on AI, Tamboer AI's AI Operating System costs 4,500 euros excluding VAT, one-off or in twelve instalments of 375 euros without surcharge. The 1,500 euros for the first process is credited in full if you continue within 30 days. All terms are on the pricing page.

Why companies choose Tamboer AI

A fixed price, no "from"

1,500 euros for one process and 4,500 euros for the AI Operating System. You know the amount before anything is built, not only after a paid session.

No subscription

After delivery you pay nothing per month. Maintenance is optional: 125 euros an hour with a cap agreed in advance.

Stop after week one

With the AI Operating System you can stop after week one for 1,500 euros. If the workflow does not work as agreed, you get your money back.

Everything stays yours

The solution, the accounts and the documentation stay yours. Nothing runs on a platform you are tied to.

Then there is the way of working. You work directly with Joost, an AI specialist trained at one of the largest banks in the Netherlands. One point of contact from diagnosis to training, and in every workflow a human approval step before anything leaves your company. How that works in practice is described in how it works and in the projects.

The agencies one by one

Tamboer AI (Utrecht)

Builds AI workflows for small and medium businesses: work that comes back every week, such as quotes, customer emails, orders and case files. Starts with a free AI starter plan: at least 30 minutes looking at your business, advice on paper, fitting tools and three tailored prompts. Then One process on AI for 1,500 euros excluding VAT in ten working days, or the AI Operating System for 4,500 euros in three weeks. No subscription, money back if it does not work as agreed.

Capisoft (Amsterdam)

Software company building custom AI software, alongside apps, CRM, RPA and system integration. According to its own site it works with a team of more than a hundred developers and a fixed fee model; amounts are not on the site. A project takes 3 to 6 months on average according to their FAQ. Source: capisoft.nl.

The difference with Tamboer AI: at Tamboer AI the price is on the site up front, one process is ready in ten working days and you get your money back if it does not work. Capisoft mainly suits large custom projects that need a big development team.

AI Collega's (Apeldoorn)

Builds AI agents that work inside your own systems and are monitored through their own platform, the AI Collega's Hub. The first step is a paid AI Impact Session from 795 euros, followed by a Discovery Session of 1,495 euros and tailored development. After that comes a fixed monthly fee for the Hub, hosting and maintenance; the amount is not on the site. Live in 4 to 12 weeks. Source: aicollegas.nl.

The difference with Tamboer AI: the first step at Tamboer AI is free and already delivers advice on paper and three prompts. The build price is fixed up front and after delivery you pay no monthly fee for a platform.

TAP Agency (Amersfoort)

Focuses on AI operations with a strong emphasis on sales: outbound, inbound and qualification. Starts with a free AI Scan, then a 2 to 4 week project and then an ongoing partnership in which TAP becomes your external AI department. Prices are not on the site. The site emphasises fully autonomous workflows. Source: tapagency.io.

The difference with Tamboer AI: Tamboer AI states the price up front, needs no ongoing partnership and always builds in a human approval step before anything goes to a customer. TAP mainly suits companies that want to outsource their sales machine.

Toomba (Lelystad)

Software house with an AI arm for SMEs, healthcare and government: consultancy, document processing, chatbots and AI inside existing software. The AI Quickscan is free, a strategy session costs from 1,650 euros and implementation is billed by the hour, 100 to 160 euros. Source: toomba.com.

The difference with Tamboer AI: at Tamboer AI building one process is included in 1,500 euros, as a fixed price rather than an hourly rate, so the final price is known up front. Toomba mainly suits companies that want existing or older software rebuilt.

The AI Agency (Utrecht)

Builds AI applications per department for SMEs and, according to its own FAQ, works with a model of discovery, build and then a retainer. There is no own price list on the site; their knowledge pages only give market indications. According to the site the first system is usually live within 2 to 3 weeks. Source: theaiagency.nl.

The difference with Tamboer AI: same city, same target group, but at Tamboer AI the price is fixed, no retainer is needed and you get your money back if the workflow does not work as agreed.

What's Next and aiagency.nl (Rotterdam)

Builds custom AI agents and automations, provides training and offers an ongoing AI partnership, mainly for mid-sized organisations. According to its own site the aiagency.nl platform is also an initiative of What's Next. A workshop costs 3,000 euros, a training programme 15,000 euros and a partnership from 2,750 euros a month, all excluding VAT. The price per agent is not published. Code and documentation belong to the client. Source: whatsnext-ai.com.

The difference with Tamboer AI: at Tamboer AI you start for free and a built process costs 1,500 euros one-off, less than one month of partnership. Both keep the code with the client and have a human approve; only Tamboer AI states a money-back arrangement.

UnifyAI

Builds AI agents for SMEs that prepare work inside existing systems. The first agent costs 750 euros excluding VAT, a whole process 2,000 to 3,500 euros. Hosting is required, from 50 euros a month, and the agent runs in their environment by default. Source: unify-ai.nl.

The difference with Tamboer AI: for a complete process you pay 1,500 euros at Tamboer AI, with no required hosting and with money back. Over the first year that is 1,100 to 2,600 euros less than a whole process at UnifyAI.

ThrAive

Focuses on AI implementation for SMEs with a fixed price per project. According to the site one working workflow starts from 800 euros; the final price follows from the scope. Works within 30 days or money back, and source code and data are in the client's name. Source: thraive.nl.

The difference with Tamboer AI: Tamboer AI states a fixed price without "from", delivers in ten working days rather than within 30 days and gives you free advice on paper with three prompts before any assignment. Both have a money-back arrangement.

DenkBot (Amerongen)

Small agency for automation, AI agents and custom software. According to its pricing page it charges a one-off build fee of 2,500 euros plus 500 euros a month for maintenance and further development. Source: denkbot.nl.

The difference with Tamboer AI: no monthly fee. After twelve months that is 1,500 euros at Tamboer AI against 8,500 euros in DenkBot's model.

Utomatic (Rotterdam)

Builds chatbots, voice agents and RPA for SMEs with a lot of phone, email or admin work, and hosts and manages everything itself. A pilot costs 1,500 euros one-off, the Professional package 2,450 euros plus from 249 euros a month. Money back within 30 days. Source: utomatic.ai.

The difference with Tamboer AI: for the same amount as their pilot you get a fully delivered process at Tamboer AI, with no monthly fee, and the solution and accounts stay yours. Utomatic mainly suits telephony and voice.

Innoworks (Enschede)

Offers a 14-day AI audit, AI agents and also a product called AI Operating System, for professional service firms. The audit has a fixed price, but the amount is not on the site; the AI Operating System has no fixed price and usually runs as a retainer. Source: innoworks.ai.

The difference with Tamboer AI: Tamboer AI's AI Operating System costs 4,500 euros one-off, in three weeks, with a stop point after week one. No retainer.

How to choose an AI agency: six questions

  • What does one working process cost, as an amount and not as "from"?
  • What do I pay every month after delivery, and can I stop that without the system stopping?
  • Who owns the workflow, the prompts, the integrations and the accounts after delivery?
  • What happens if it does not work as agreed: do I get my money back?
  • Where is the human approval before anything goes to a customer or into the books?
  • Who do I work with: one point of contact or a different team member each time?

Still undecided between an agency, a freelancer or doing it yourself? Read the honest trade-off. What an AI consultant costs per hour is on what does an AI consultant cost, and how a project runs on AI implementation for SMEs.

How this comparison was made

All facts about other agencies come from their own websites, consulted on 27 September 2026, and are linked at each agency. Amounts are shown as the agency states them; where it does not say whether VAT is included, we say so. We do not copy customer counts, percentages or reviews of other agencies, because we cannot check them. The first-year amount is our own sum of the published amounts. Prices change: always check them with the agency itself before you choose.

Frequently asked questions

What does an AI agency cost in the Netherlands?

Among the twelve agencies in this comparison the first step ranges from a free starter plan to a workshop of 3,000 euros. One working process costs 1,500 to 3,500 euros one-off at the agencies that publish a price, and some charge a monthly fee from 50 euros afterwards. Tamboer AI charges 1,500 euros excluding VAT for one process, with no monthly costs.

Which AI agency is the cheapest?

Look at what a complete working process costs in the first year, not at the lowest entry price. The lowest entry in this comparison is a first agent of 750 euros at UnifyAI, but a whole process there costs 2,000 to 3,500 euros plus required hosting. At Tamboer AI a complete process costs 1,500 euros excluding VAT, with no monthly costs.

What is the difference between an AI agency and an AI consultancy?

There is no fixed difference: both are names for a party that designs and builds AI applications for your company. Look at what is delivered, what it costs and who owns it afterwards, not at the name.

Do I have to take out a subscription with an AI agency?

Not always. Some agencies charge a fixed monthly fee after the build for hosting, maintenance or a partnership. Tamboer AI delivers without a subscription; you only agree maintenance if you want it, at 125 euros an hour with a cap.

Who owns the AI solution after delivery?

That differs per agency and is often not on the website. Ask before you sign. At Tamboer AI the solution, the accounts and the documentation stay yours.

Is Tamboer AI an AI agency?

Yes, in the sense that Tamboer AI designs, builds and hands over AI workflows. The difference is the form: you work directly with Joost, one point of contact from diagnosis to training, with a fixed price up front and your money back if it does not work as agreed.
