The short answer
The prompt builder creates a checkable AI work instruction: which source, which task, which format, which boundary and when the outcome goes to a person. For a clearly defined task, either once or as a reusable work instruction. Free, no account, everything runs in your browser and nothing is stored.
A prompt is not a managed workflow. For recurring work with exceptions, start with the process check.
Your verifiable prompt
What you fill in
The prompt builder asks for eight things: goal and task, permitted sources, the output you want, quality criteria, forbidden actions, stop rules for missing or contradictory information, who checks and decides, and how the source reference should look. All eight are required. A prompt without a stop rule and without an owner produces work nobody can check.
What the tool assumes
The prompt builder runs entirely in your browser. Your answers do not go to a server and are not stored here; close the tab and the text is gone. The result is a prompt you paste into ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot or another model yourself. The tool does not test that prompt and cannot see whether the model follows it. You check that yourself on your first ten cases.
What comes next
A single prompt suits work you do now and then. If the task returns every week, has exceptions or needs someone to approve the outcome, it needs a workflow. Check your process first and then record the control card. All steps are listed under the free AI tools, and the frequently asked questions cover what AI costs and delivers in your business.
